Superfood Pancakes


This is one of our family favorite's for the weekend. We always mix up our own recipe and every time they are delicious. I like to add protein shake as I believe its vital to start the day with great quality protein . Today, we changed it up a bit and I added some maca and some spinach. I am always trying to pack in the greens and superfoods.....so we thought why not add it to our pancakes too?


What is Maca?

Maca is a cruciferous vegetable and therefore related to broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and kale . The main edible part of the plant is the root, which grows underground. It exists in several colors, ranging from white to black. Maca root is generally dried and consumed in powder form. It is very nutritious.

The Maca powder is rich in B vitamins, C and E which helps boost energy and balance hormones. It has been known to improve irregular mood swings and reduce blood pressure. It is a good source of carbs, is low in fat and contains a fair amount of fibre.

We absolutely love it as it adds a nutty flavor.


So here's the Pancake recipe:

  • 1 1/2 cup rolled oats

  • 2-3 bananas

  • handful of spinach

  • 3 eggs

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • Add Almond Milk 🥛 for perfect pancake consistency

  • 1tsp maca powder

  • 1tbl of Vanilla Neolife Protein Shake


Toppings of your choice:

I love berries and Full Cream Greek Yoghurt , and lots and lots of honey!

Super easy and nutritious.
